Meet the Founder

Amy Moore

Founder

she/her

Hi, I’m Amy (she / her), the founder of Amoorish. I’m a queer woman that loves dogs. I spend my time foraging for wild ingredients, dancing at music festivals and hosting dinner parties.

I’m a qualified nutritional therapist with a psychology degree. This means I’m an evidence-based practitioner, meaning my nutrition plans are backed entirely by science and research.

My relationship journey food has been marked by joy and struggle. From standing on a stool cooking in my family's country kitchen to experiencing the depths of an emotional eating disorder and societal pressures, food has been a constant companion.

Growing up, I found joy in crafting recipes and exploring nature’s flavours. But as I navigated the complexities of adolescence, my relationship with food became a challenge. Society's relentless scrutiny of unrealistic body standards led me down a path of shame and food restriction.

Through these struggles, the seeds of Amoorish were sewn. Determined to break free, I began a journey of self-discovery, earning a degree in Psychology to understand the human mind.

In 2015, I transformed a run-down horse trailer into a pop-up restaurant serving nourishing dishes up and down the UK. It was here that I truly found my calling. Amidst the commotion of festival sites and markets, I discovered a truth: food creates community, nourishes the soul, and brings joy.

Driven by my passion for helping people, I attained a higher educational diploma in Nutritional Therapy, where I honed my skills and expertise to empower others on their journey to wellness.

Now, with Amoorish, I am committed to sharing this knowledge and passion with the world, one plate at a time.

Our Vision

Our vision is to enthuse and motivate individuals to make small and sustainable life changes to improve the future of their health and well-being. We shine a light on the food systems that make us ill and teach our clients how to move out of the ultra-processed food trap and spring into a natural whole-food diet.

80% of modern diseases are lifestyle-related.

Our Purpose

We exist because we’re frustrated with the lack of transparent information about what we should be eating, when and why. We’re tired of body-shaming and the blame culture that surrounds the obesity crisis. And, we are directly fighting against the companies that are mass-producing ultra-processed meals and financially benefiting from making us ill.

We say enough is enough. We all deserve nourishing, affordable food. We all deserve stricter laws around food labelling and misleading information.

It might seem like a lot, but we believe we can do it. Through tailored nutritional therapy, we guide clients to make manageable changes to reach and maintain their end goal.

This is not about crash dieting. It is about transforming your lifestyle and diet to ensure you can be the brightest, happiest version of yourself through education, addressing psychological blocks and eradicating the self-shame society has placed on your shoulders. We will say bye to that.

We use our unique recipe creation and eating pattern analysis to develop healthier versions of your favourite meals.

Healthy food does not have to be boring or lacking in flavour. We eat with our eyes first. Our gift for food styling makes our food even more enticing.

Our Values

Love

The centre of Amoorish. It is a love of people, food and community. It creates healthy, tasty recipes, and helps people take ownership of their future health.

Empathy

With each other and with ourselves. Empathy is the beating heart of Amoorish.

Tolerance

We will never judge what you eat, how much exercise you do, or your favourite secret snacks. Trust us, we’ve heard and seen it all.

Pleasure

We don’t take ourselves too seriously. Food should be fun. We will help you restore the joy of eating.

Attentiveness

Think of us as a helping hand that guides you through the process. We are here to support the emotional changes alongside diet and lifestyle changes.

Connection

We will help you reconnect with your body and forge connections to natural foods and ancestral methods of cooking.

Science-led

All advice we give is based on extensive scientific research.

Inclusivity

Our sessions are for everyone. We will respect how you identify (we love pronouns). We will not ask about your weight or height, calculate your BMI, or count calorie intake. We will simply teach you what a healthy plate looks like.
